Rope Access technicians regular medical examination

Dubai Municipality has a guideline from the beginning on Rope Access technicians health check up. Now these days many facilities management wanted Rope Access company to provide a certificate mentioned below check up results.

The Guideline as :

Operatives should be at least 18 years of age, normally with a maximum weight of 100 kg. They should have an aptitude for work at height and must be physically capable of carrying out the tasks required. They should be free from any impairment that may prevent them from working safely at height. No one suffering the following conditions should do rope access work:

• Heart disease / chest pain; • High blood Pressure; • Epilepsy, fits, blackouts; • Fear of heights/vertigo; • Giddiness / difficulty with balance; • Impaired limb function; • Alcohol or drug dependence; • Psychiatric illness / undergoing counseling; • Diabetes

Any Rope Access technicians more than 100 kg not able to start the training due to rope starching. No one takes training for Rope Access if they fear of heights. About condition check heart disease / chest pain required a proper medical check up and general health check up will cost additional 450AED for each person. It is an additional cost as many companies not keeping within there proposal cost.

However, now Rope Access industries must have to look into these health check up in order to have permits from the Facilities Management.
